No — and it can't. There is no camera and no microphone that captures speech. Vahti measures sound as a decibel level (how loud), never as audio (what was said), and there is no lens of any kind. There is simply no footage or recording to store, share, or leak.
Plug it into any wall outlet, open the app, and follow the pairing steps. That's the whole install — about five minutes, no tools, no hub, no drilling. It sits flush against the outlet and quietly disappears into the room.
Yes — Vahti uses your home WiFi (2.4 GHz) to send readings to the app. If the connection drops, the sensor keeps measuring locally and fills in the gap once it's back online, and the app lets you know it went quiet.
No. The app, live readings, alerts, and recent history are included with the device — no monthly fee to make it work. An optional plan adds longer history and extras, but Vahti never holds basic peace of mind behind a paywall.
